Department & reporting line: Head of MENA Unit
The Project Officer (all genders) will be supporting several projects in the MENA Department, including on a regional level, Syria and Yemen. In addition, this position serves as liaison and representation of the Beirut Regional Office’s needs and priorities at the Berghof Head Office in Berlin. Mainly, the liaison acts as an interface within Berghof, across the different Departments and Units ensuring the internal communication and coordination with Beirut structures and colleagues.

- Coordinating with MENA project teams and partners regarding thematic, administrative and financial issues, conceptual and logistical support
- Ensuring follow-up of different tasks from the Beirut Regional Office toward different departments in Berlin, especially regarding finances and administration
- Close collaboration with Finance Managers or colleagues working on project logistics regarding project activities and/or budget issues
- Supporting the MENA Management team in organising the internal communication and coordination structures within the department
- You are co-responsible for the communication towards project partners/stakeholders/participants
- Taking over buddy-role for new colleagues during onboardings
- Occasional travels (also to high risk areas)
YOUR KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree within relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar
- You have relevant working experience in the MENA region, ideally in Lebanon and/or the described project areas
- You are comfortable coordinating and communicating between different stakeholders and departments within an organisation; and manage to organise yourself between a variety of different tasks
- Furthermore, you have experience in organising events, workshops and meetings
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English, Arabic is an asset
- Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams)
